Roger Bright and his mother took over the established business of Frank Day & Co in 1952 and renamed the firm Bright & Bright. The history of Frank Day & Co can be traced back to just before the First World War with the firm moving to the present offices in Victoria Road in 1937. Roger was very instrumental in saving what is now Deal Conservation area from redevelopment in the 1960's. Today the town boasts one of the finest Conservation Areas in the country together with one of the most attractive and unspoilt seafronts.
Bright & Bright is now one of the oldest established estate agencies in Kent.
In the 1980's Roger sold the business to Mrs Pam Long who used her London expertise and experience in Commercial property to expand the business to include a Lettings Department. Pam sold the business to Brian Thorpe who in recent years developed and expanded it further to become one of the most respected agencies in the Deal area.
In April 2012, the business was taken over by the Colebrook family. Nigel Colebrook has over 50 years’ experience in estate agency and a very full and expansive knowledge of East Kent, its properties and the people who live and work here. Nigel established the agency of Colebrook Sturrock & Co in 1991 which rapidly became one of the most individual and successful agencies in Kent, dealing with many important sales of individual, period and country properties (including The Salutation in Sandwich) with 6 offices and a staff of over 30.
Nigel sold his interest in that business in 2003.
In April 2014 Nigel’s daughter, Becky Lead, joined Bright & Bright and in due course became a director.
The policy of the business is to provide a personal and professional service specialising in the sale of period homes, individual and country properties together with marine residences and cottages throughout the East Kent Area. Whilst building on the firm’s traditions and reputation, an eye is kept on the future as Agency moves forward in the internet age and digital marketing.
However, most importantly, our number one aim is to act in the best interests of the client and not shareholders, corporates and impersonal chains whose sole objective is to meet targets and turnover.
For us it's personal.
